We have an Access 2010 application that uses an ActiveX control (c:\Promiles\PromilesSDK.v16\mapcontrol.ocx). This runs normally under Windows 7 and previous versions of Windows. However when this AccessX control is initialized for the first time (we have it on an form) it takes about 8 minutes to open.
However when I open it on previous versions of Windows it opens in just 3 or 4 seconds.
The issue appears to be the way it loads up into memory as you can see by this video I made.
http://youtu.be/MWPLj5xHsKQ PLEASE NOTE: In the video I refer "Server" and to "My Desktop". The "Server" is running Windows 8 and "My Desktop" is running Windows 7.
How can we allow Access 2010 to open up the memory quicker for the ActiveX control as shown in the video so we can avoid this long delay in opening up our application’s main data entry screen?
