I have a vb5 exe that uses crystal reports 4.5. It calls a series of 6 reports and in the exe the user sets the printer, in this case Microsoft Document Imaging Writer, and the user can save off the report as .mdi and display it on screen.
Problem is reports 2 and 5 will not save or display to screen, they give option to save and user types name and saves but it does not save or display, it just moves on to the next report which it does save and display. If I go and look in the printer I can see the document sitting there with status ‘sent to printer’ so they will all queue up there but still others will save and display as normal.
If user sets printer to physical printer all reports will print out on paper just fine. Also if I use .xps they will all print fine as well.
The machine is XP, SP3.
What is wrong, can anyone help?
Also if i change to print as .tif the problem reports will print and save as they should in this format, but why not in .mdi?
